Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services (EMTS), trading as Etisalat, is a Nigerian company duly incorporated under the laws of Nigeria in partnership with Mubadala Development Company and Etisalat of the United Arab Emirates. Incorporated in Nigeria as a private company, it acquired the Unified Access License from the Federal Government in January 2007. The license includes a mobile license and spectrum in the GSM 1800 and 900 MHz bands. Etisalat acquired a 40% stake in EMTS and is now the operator of the Unified Access License.

Etisalat has been the telecommunications service provider in the United Arab Emirates since 1976 and has footprints in 18 countries traversing the Middle East, Asia and Africa. In its many years of operations, it has built up state-of-the-art telecom infrastructure and taken a leadership position of innovation and reliability among regional and international operators.


In Nigeria, Etisalat made the first official call on its network on the 13th of March 2008 in the presence of officials from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. In September of same year, it kicked off commercial operations with the innovative 0809uchoose campaign which enabled Nigerians choose numbers special to them as their mobile numbers. Full commercial operations began in October 2008.

Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services (trading as Etisalat Nigeria ) desires to urgently fill the following vacant positions in the Technical Division. Applications from interested and suitably qualified candidates are welcome:

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1.  Supervision and maintenance of power & cooling equipment at Data Centre, IT rooms and all other equipment: (AC/DC system and HVAC)
2.  Planning/Implementation and execution of all preventive and corrective maintenance activities
3.  Management of power & cooling consumption / capacity utilization.
4.  Coordinate new installations in the data centre according to power budget /design specification.
5.  Data Centre Power /Floor space utilization and allocation control
6.  Updating of technical documentation, drawings and operational logs relating to equipment and maintenance activities
7.  Management of BMS in the Data centre.
8.  Monitoring diesel levels/ consumption and ensuring refills as and when necessary.
9.  Monitoring of utility power utilization and availability.
10.  Ensuring housekeeping of the Data centre
11.  Maintain accurate records of all M & E equipment in the in the Data Centre.
12.  Conduct monthly meetings with maintenance contractors and generate reports.
13.  Produce weekly and monthly activities reports.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

•  First degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline
•  Minimum 3 years experience in Telecomm Power and Cooling system / Generator and HVAC air- condition Operation and Maintenance.
•  Very good understanding of telecoms DC/AC power systems.
•  Operation & Maintenance experience.
